Disneyland Style Resort in Cyprus, Larnaca Gets Approval

Disneyland style resort in Cyprus could go ahead

There has been a slight move in rumors of a Disneyland style resort here in Cyprus, with the Cypriot government outlining their approval and backing for a 500,000 m2 area around the Oroklini, Larnaca region that would allow for the development of a resort and theme park in the style of Disneyland or similar.

The owner has been granted the opportunity to build what is termed a touristic village and a hotel of up to five stars.

Missing piece in the Eastern Mediterranean

There is no doubt that Cyprus would benefit from having such a resort in the area, with so many people living within a few hours plane joinery and the guarantee of excellent weather and the fact that many Cypriots are bi lingual, the option to capitalise on a Disney type resort on the island is one that needs careful consideration.

Of course a need for car hire from Paphos to Larnaca would be needed for those arriving at Paphos airport but the resort is likely to ab an all inclusive affair and therefore bus journeys may also become a more in demand service to reach this small town on the East cost of Cyprus.
